Best Exfoliator Ever: Cure Natural Aqua Gel Review

My sister, who’s based in Hong Kong, introduced me to this product three or four years back. At that time, she told me that this product has been getting so much rave and she’d see so many Mainlanders (people from mainland China) hording bottles of this. She even said that a bottle is sold every twelve (12) seconds (I found this hard to believe at that time and you’d probably feel the same if you haven’t tried this product yet).

Just to digress about, it is common knowledge that Hong Kong is known not just as a shopping haven for cheap clothes and branded shoes/bags but also for cosmetics, as no sales tax is added to such cosmetics. You can just about buy not only the big brand names, e.g. Lancome, Dior, Shu Uemera, etc., but also other brands that you’ve probably never even heard of but are such a hit in other parts of the world and are just as effective as the big brands. You can find practically almost all brands of cosmetic products in Hong Kong and you need not go to Japan, Korea or some other foreign country just to buy cosmetics locally made in such countries. So a typical scene in Hong Kong would be Mainlanders and other tourists wheeling suitcases filled with cosmetics bought from SaSa, Bonjour or some other local dispensary.

Enough of my blabbing, however, and back to the matter at hand: my favorite exfoliator and one that I’ve religiously used ever since I’ve tried it, Cure Natural Aqua Gel or, Cure, for short.

Cure is a fragrance-free and color-free product that gently exfoliates dead skin.Dead skin cells are the culprits for making the face look rougher. Upon massaging your face with Cure, you will immediately notice white particles of dead skin cells. I assure you that, after rinsing, your face will be silky smooth and feel squeaky clean, refreshed, moisturized, hydrated and rejuvenated. I swear, every time I use it, it’s as if I’ve just had a facial or the feeling of having just had a face mask.

Cure’s unique and gentle formula can be used not only on the face but also on other parts of the body where dead skin cells tend to accumulate, e.g. hands, elbows, neck and knees. Based on my research, it is made of 90% active hydrogenated water and the remaining 10% is made up of these mild ingredients:glycerin, crosspolymer, dicocodimonium chloride, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, ginkgo bilboa extract, rosemary leaf extract, butylene glycol and isopropyl alcohol. What further makes this product great is that no animal testing was done in the manufacture of this product.

The following is a step-by-step guide in using Cure:
1. Wash your face with your preferred facial wash and pat to dry. For maximum results, please make sure that your face is dry when you put on Cure.
2. Pump twice or thrice and apply on your face. Massage gently in circular motions, trying not to put too much pressure on your fingertips, for about thirty (30) seconds to one (1) minute.
3. Gently rinse off the dead skin residue.
4. After drying, do your usual skincare routine. Do not forget to apply moisturizer!!

It is recommended that Cure be used twice a week. I do my Cure “ritual” every Wednesdays and Sundays, but I believe that using Cure beyond that would have no adverse effect given its mild ingredients. It is also recommended that a bottle be consumed within six (6) months from the time it is first opened/pumped. I strictly adhere to this six(6)-month rule. Whenever I still have a lot left and it is nearing my “expiration” date, I use Cure on other parts of my body, like my knees and elbows. I usually only use Cure on my face and neck.

Cure can also be used by guys and the fact that the product is housed in a clear, plastic bottle would make guys less wary of using it.

For the many years that I’ve been using it, I can honestly say that using Cure: (i) has not made my skin dry; (ii) did not give me any breakouts; (iii) made my face smooth; and (iv) made my complexion brighter.

You might be wondering why it’s taken me so long to write about this product when I’ve been using it for several years now. It was actually only recently that I started blogging. Also, I think the fact that I’ve been using this product without fail for several years now and still find no fault with it attest to its lasting and amazing effect.

To sum it all up, from the moment I tried Cure, I never looked for any other exfoliator ever again. If you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest that you do and make it a part of your skincare routine!
