Blistex Lip Medex: My Go-To Lip Balm
I
have always had dry lips and this most specially becomes problematic whenever I’m
travelling and the place where I’m at is windy and/or cold. Any sudden drop in
temperature would make my lips dry and chapped, to the point of bleeding, in no
time! This is why I make sure to always bring with me a stash of lip balms
whenever I travel.
I’ve
tried several brands of lip balms in my lifetime (and they’re a lot, mind you!)
and I can honestly say that I never really had that one lip balm that worked
for me in the long run. That was the case until I discovered Lip Medex by Blistex. You see, two
things I noticed with lip balms are: (i) as with all other skincare
products, what works perfectly for one may not have that same effect on you and
may even do more damage to your lips; and (ii) what works for you at one point
may not have that lasting/continuous effect after regularly using it for a while. You
could say that finding that one lip balm that would be most compatible with you
is really tricky! I won’t belabor on enumerating all those other brands that I’ve
tried as I am not here to cast doubt on the effectivity of these other products
and, like what I said, what may not have worked for me may work well for
others.
Anyway,
I was about to give up my quest for that “one” lip balm for me until my sister
introduced Lip Medex to me. I was initially hesitant as she likewise introduced
another lip balm to me, which is famous for being used by local celebrities,
but it was not effective for me after trying it on.
The
first time I used Lip Medex, I applied it at night before going to bed and
with just a small amount as I was afraid of its effect on my lips. Immediately
after putting it on, I instantly felt the cool, soothing sensation of the
menthol in the lip balm. As it is my routine to drink water before going to
bed, I noticed that the cooling/soothing effect of the menthol stayed on my
lips even after drinking a glass of water. This is not like the other lip balms
I used where I had to reapply the lip balm after drinking water. After waking
up, I noticed that my lips still had that menthol/soothed feel from the night
before. I also noticed that my lips felt hydrated and supple. Satisfied of its
result, I then started using it as my everyday lip balm, applying it on before putting
on lipstick and proceeding with my day, and applying it on again before bedtime.
I
have been using Lip Medex by Blistex for several months now and I can happily
and honestly say that its effect has not yet waned and it’s still working
perfectly on my lips. Also, unlike before where I would usually scrape off a
considerable amount of flaked skin on my lips after letting my toothbrush run
through my lips every after brushing (this is one advice that I got from my
other sister), I noticed that there is no need for it now. Even since using Lip Medex, I no longer get any flaked skin from my lips whenever I
run my toothbrush over my lips. I have to
warn you, though, Lip Medex smells like Tiger Balm (this may be disconcerting
to some but I personally don’t mind) but the smell eventually wears off and you'll get used to the smell every time you apply that it would come to a point where you wouldn't notice it at all (trust me on this.haha).

Hopefully, this post would help those who are looking for that lip balm solution to their dry and chapped lips. Though I cannot guarantee that this lip balm would have the same effect on other people, I sincerely hope that it would have the same satisfactory effect to you, my dear reader, as what I've experienced with it.
